Born in prison yet free... Mr. Azaad.
Azaad (Anil Kapoor) is an unemployed graduate with a large heart but empty pocket, he was grateful to the people of his basti who brought up.
Azaad had one mission to uplift the basti from rags to riches and from despair to happiness, he soon fools the rich and the law-breakers to realise his dream, and distributes the stolen wealth among the people of his basti who now look upon him as a saviour...a hero!
The basti adores him and Roopa (Chandni) loves him, but Azaad loves the bold and beautiful Inspector Shaloo (Shaloo Aneja). Seeing this Roopa sacrifices her love but not her dream, which was to make Azaad a 'cop' one day!
Meanwhile, the rich but unscrupulous, politician but corrupt, powerful but killer, the three criminals unite to eliminate the basti for their personal gains... but are suddenly warned!
"Criminals beware... Mr. Azaad has arrived"
Now Azaad was a true cop, Roopa's determination and Shaloo's love has helped him to become and inspector.
Soon Azaad learns that the attackers of his basti politician Heerawat (Kader Khan), businessman Garg (Shakti Kapoor) and killer Katkar (Ishrat Ali) are also the killers of his father and were responsible in sending his mother to the prison.
The final battle begins... Azaad is now really AZAAD, free from the bonds of law and free from fear of death, as he takes on the 'three bulls by the horn'-but will he?
